Product Thinking as Careful Craft
We are a small, focused consultancy helping Malaysian teams shape ideas and make sensible decisions about new or evolving offerings.
Back to HomeWhere Solenne Came From
Solenne was set up in Kuala Lumpur by a small group of practitioners who had spent years working inside large Malaysian organisations and watching the same pattern repeat: a promising product idea would lose momentum not because the market was wrong, but because the thinking around it was never properly worked through.
The name references deliberateness — the kind of careful attention that distinguishes a well-made object from something assembled in a hurry. We apply that same attention to product thinking.
We started with a single engagement format and expanded to three after clients asked for support at different stages of their product journeys. Each engagement is structured to be complete in itself and scoped so that teams are not overcommitted before they know what they need.
Our Mission
To help Malaysian teams move from a rough idea to a workable direction without wasted effort or inflated expectations.
Our Vision
A Malaysia where product development is approached with clarity and calm — where teams know what they are building and why before they commit.
Our Values
Honesty, usefulness, and respect for the people we work with. We say what we see, deliver what we promise, and adapt to your actual situation.

Our Working Standards
The principles that shape how we engage with clients and deliver each project.
Scoped Engagements
Each engagement is scoped clearly before work begins. You know what you will receive, when, and at what cost. No scope creep, no surprise additions.
Confidentiality as Standard
Client information, ideas, and business context are treated as strictly confidential. We do not discuss one client's work with another, ever.
Direct Communication
We communicate clearly and promptly. If something is not working as expected, we raise it early rather than letting it become a larger problem.
Documented Outputs
Every engagement produces a written document. We believe that good thinking should be legible — your team should be able to return to the work we did together months later.
Practitioner-Led
The people you speak with at the start are the same people who do the work. We do not pass client projects to junior staff without proper oversight.
Data Privacy
We comply with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 and handle any personal or business data shared during engagements with appropriate care.
Product Strategy Consulting in Malaysia
Solenne works at the intersection of product thinking and organisational practice. Our engagements are built around the observation that most product difficulties are not technical — they are conceptual. Teams struggle because the idea has not been clearly defined, or because the organisation lacks a shared way of thinking about new offerings.
We address both. The Idea Shaping Session brings conceptual clarity to an early-stage idea. The Product Direction Engagement gives a team a documented direction and a simple roadmap. The Innovation Practice Programme helps an organisation build the internal habits and shared language that make product work steadier over time.
Our work is grounded in the Malaysian context. We understand the commercial, regulatory, and cultural factors that shape how businesses here develop and launch new offerings. This context-awareness is not an add-on — it is part of how we approach each engagement from the first conversation.
